When Huawei’s sub-brand Honor unveiled its Honor 9X series as the successor to last year’s Honor 8X series, the brand’s executives proudly claimed that the 8X is its best-selling phone. The series reached 15 million units sold, and 10 million of that was sold in the 173 days after its official launch. Now, it seems the Honor 9X is even more successful than its predecessor.
29 days after the official release of the Honor 9X series in China, there have been 3 million devices sold, which is equivalent to around 100,000 units per day.
It is not really a surprise why the duo is doing really well because they are packed with high-end specifications at an affordable price. The Honor 9X is priced from RMB 1,499 (around Rs. 15,000) for the base variant and RMB 2,499 (around Rs. 25,000) for the top-end option.
Honor 9X & 9X Pro: Specifications
The handset sports a 6.59-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Software-wise, it ships with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.1 to take care of the software side of things. For security, Honor makes use of fingerprint scanner mounted at the back for biometric authentication. Powering the phone is the new Kirin 810 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
In terms of camera, it has a dual-camera setup at the back and a 16MP pop-up selfie camera on the front with an f/2.2 lens. Its rear camera system includes a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. A 4,000mAh battery is responsible for fueling the handset and can be refilled with 10W fast charging solution.
As for the more premium Honor 9X Pro, it has pretty much the same specifications as its sibling Honor 9X. However, instead of a dual camera setup, the handset is equipped with triple rear cameras. Aside from the 48MP + 2MP sensors, it has an additional 8MP ultra-wide camera.
