Aside from the Honor 20 Pro, Honor also announces the slightly toned-down Honor 20 with Kirin 980 SoC, quad rear cameras, and 32MP selfie camera as well. The two smartphones share quite a lot of similarities in all aspect. The key differences lie on the camera setup of the two handsets.
Honor 20: Price & Availability
While the Honor 20 Pro is priced at €599 (roughly Rs. 46,600) for the single model with 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, the Honor 20 is slightly cheaper with a price tag of €499 (roughly Rs. 38,800). Similar to the Pro version, the availability of this handset is also unknown. It will launch in three color variants which are Midnight Black, Icelandic White, and Sapphire Blue.
Honor 20: Specs & Features
Both of the Honor 20 and 20 Pro features the new holographic design with a gradient finish rear panel. On the front, it has a hole-punch display with a 32MP selfie camera on the cut-out.
It sports a 6.26-inch FHD+ display just like the 20 Pro. In addition, it is also driven by the powerful Kirin 980 SoC with GPU Turbo 3.0 to further improve its performance and 6GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage. Its battery is slightly smaller than the 20 Pro. While the Pro model packs a 4,000 mAh battery, the standard Honor 20 is packed with a 3,750 mAh cell. However, it has the same 22.5W Super Charge tech support for a faster-charging rate.
The camera is where the two handsets differ the most. Both of them come with a quad camera setup, but the Honor 20 Pro’s setup is better. The Honor 20 sports a 48MP Sony IMX 586 main sensor with an f/1.8 lens instead of the f/1.4 lens of the Pro variant. Other cameras in the setup include a 16MP camera with an ultra wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth unit, and a 2MP dedicated macro lens. Camera features are still the same as the Pro model, comprising of dual 4-axis OIS, AI Super Night Mode, and AI Ultra Clarity Mode. The selfie camera is still a 32MP shooter with an f/2.0 lens.
For security, there is a fingerprint scanner mounted in its side Power Button which only takes 0.3 seconds to unlock the phone. It can also be used to trigger Google Assistant by pressing it for 1 second. In terms of software, it boots Honor's Magic 2.1 UI out of the box which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
