Google Pixel 4a Live Photos Confirm Punch-Hole Display & Square Camera Module

The Pixel 4a will still come with a plastic back and a single rear camera housed in a square-shaped module, just like its premium Pixel 4 siblings.

After the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL launched in October last year, users are now focusing their attention on the Lite version of this smartphone duo called Pixel 4a. This will also be the successor to the already very successful Pixel 3a and Pixel 3 XL that Google launched last year.

Recently, some live images of the Pixel 4a have been officially revealed. And just like what leakster OnLeaks has shared on the recent renders, Google's upcoming mid-range smartphone will have a similar design to the Pixel 4 and 4 XL on the back, but on the front, the device will be equipped with a punch-hole display similar to some mid-range smartphones today.

From the image above, we can see that the handset will have a design similar to the Pixel 4, including the rear camera setup mounted in a small square module with an LED flash. The back will also be home to a fingerprint sensor, a feature that Pixel 4 and 4 XL do not have. It will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top edge. Meanwhile, the SIM tray is placed on the left side and the power and volume buttons are located on the right side.

On the front, we can easily see the ‘punch-hole of the Pixel 4a placed in the upper left corner, while the bezels are slightly thick. With the top bezel of the phone isn’t as thick as the Pixel 4, we can conclude that Pixel 4a will not be equipped with Google’s MotionSense sensor like its premium siblings. This is understandable because the Pixel 4a is also a cheaper version, and to cut costs, Google had to remove the sensor. In addition, it is better to not include the sensor because it is the main reason why the Pixel 4 series can’t be launched in India.

Currently, it is not clear when Google will officially introduce the Pixel 4a. According to sources, the smartphone will be launched at the Google I / O 2020 event held in the first half of this year.
