Both the Galaxy S10+ and iPhone XS Max support wireless charging. However, the wireless charging capacity of the two devices is somewhat different. While the Galaxy S10+ comes with the new Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, the iPhone XS Max only supports conventional wireless charging standard.

Galaxy S10 + supports 15W wireless charging, almost the same as traditional wire charger. Meanwhile, the iPhone XS Max only supports 10W wireless charging capacity which is slightly more than the previous-generation iPhone X and iPhone 8 with 7.5W.
Another difference is that the Galaxy S10+ uses a Samsung-made wireless charging dock while the iPhone XS Max uses a third-party wireless charging dock. Besides, the wireless fast charging feature only works when charging a single device. If charging two devices at the same time, the charging speed of the Samsung Wireless Charger Duo will stay at a normal level.
But will the new Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 on the Galaxy S10+ help it achieve much faster wireless charging rate than the iPhone XS Max with only a conventional wireless charging standard?
YouTuber Danny Winget has just conducted a comparison on the wireless charging speed between the Galaxy S10+ and the iPhone XS Max and the difference between the two turns out to be quite tremendous.

In the test, two devices were charged from 0 % which means that their batteries are completely empty.
In the first 15 minutes after charging, the Galaxy S10 + reached 15 % charged while it was only 10 % on the iPhone XS Max. The difference continued to increase after 30 minutes of charging as while the Galaxy S10+ reached 31 % charged which is 10 % ahead of the iPhone XS Max.

After 45 minutes, Galaxy S10+ battery capacity reached 48 % whereas the battery capacity of the iPhone XS Max was still quite low, only at 27%.

One hour passed, Galaxy S10+ almost charged twice as much as iPhone XS Max when it reached 63% while iPhone XS Max was only at 32%.

Finally after 1 hour 55 minutes wireless charging, Galaxy S10+ was fully charged. Sadly, the iPhone XS Max was only half charged, about 56 % of the battery.

As there was plenty of time until the iPhone XS Max was fully charged, Danny Winget replaced the Galaxy S10+ with the Galaxy Note 9. This device does not support Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, so charging time should be slower than Galaxy S10+.

Finally, it took up to 4 hours, and the iPhone XS Max can charge 99 % of the battery. At the same time, the Galaxy Note 9, though placed on an iPhone XS Max charging dock, can still reach 80 % charged. This may show that Samsung's wireless charging technology is performing better than that of Apple.
YouTuber Danny Winget also noticed that the Galaxy S10 + back panel was quite hot when the phone was charged for about 1 hour But after reaching 100%, it cooled down pretty quickly which shows that the internal heat dissipation mechanism is quite good.
