Earlier in the year, the South Korean phone maker Samsung announced a brand-new series called Galaxy M. With the series, Samsung hopes to regain the lost market share in the budget segment in India, which has been very competitive in the last few years. Two months ago, the brand released the latest offering the series dubbed Galaxy M40, which has been the top-end model in the GAlaxy M series. However, according to tipster Ishan Agarwal in collaboration with MySmartPrice, a new mid-range smartphone in the series called Galaxy M90 might be launched in Q4 this year.
The Galaxy M90 will come in different options, including one with model number SM-M905F. However, the tipster doesn’t reveal any information regarding the phone’s specifications. The only thing we got is “R6”, which is its internal codename. Even though we don’t have an exact launch date, we believe that the Galaxy M90 will be most likely to arrive in India before December this year.
Going by its name, we speculate that the Galaxy M90 will come with a much higher price tag compared to the existing Galaxy M smartphones. Because the Galaxy M40 is currently powered by a Snapdragon 675 SoC, there is a good chance that the M90 will come with a Snapdragon 730 SoC, that is currently used on the Galaxy A80.
Aside from that, it might also feature a larger display, higher storage, a triple or event quad-camera system on the rear. Software-wise, it should ship with Android 9 Pie with the company’s OneUI on top. Samsung might even roll out an update to OneUI 2.0 that is based on Android Q several weeks after its launch. The OneUI 2.0 will come with all the Digital Wellbeing improvements that were already showcased by Google at its I/O 2019, along with a few other new improvements and features.
