Samsung is said to be working on a budget smartphone in its Galaxy A 2020 series. The Galaxy A11 will arrive a successor to the Galaxy A10 launched in March this year. To recall, the A10 is packed with a 6.2-inch display, an Exynos 7884 SoC, up to 4GB of RAM, and a 3,400 mAh battery. There are not a lot of details about the Galaxy A11 aside from it packing 32GB storage. Now, the phone has just been spotted on Geekbench with key details revealed. As per the listing, the handset will come with an older processor than that of its predecessor. The device is listed to pack a Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 626, aided by 2GB RAM.
The Exynos 7884 SoC on the Galaxy A10 is a more powerful chipset on paper because two of the eight cores are the high-performance Cortex-A73 cores. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 625 / 626 chipset only has eight Cortex-A53 cores. That means the chipset only focuses on efficiency rather than processing power. However, that is only a comparison on paper, we still have to wait for the real-world performance to conclude. Generally, Qualcomm’s chipset generally outperforms its Samsung counterparts, so it might be better to wait for the handset to launch to find out.
The listing also reveals that the device will have 2GB RAM, which is the same as the entry-level model of the Galaxy A10. However, we expect to see several more configurations since its predecessor packs up to 4GB RAM. Previously, it was said to come with 32GB storage and ship with Android 10 at launch. Color variants for the handset will be White and Black. As for the launch date, it could arrive in several markets in Asia and Africa before launching in European markets.
