Foldable Phone Huawei Mate X Finally Goes On Sale in China

Huawei's first foldable phone Huawei Mate X is finally up for sale in the company's home market China for a massive price of around Rs. 170,000.

After delaying for a long time since the first launch, Huawei finally releases the Huawei Mate X officially in China yesterday. Moreover, the brand is expected to launch a new model next year dubbed Huawei Mate Xs that comes with the brand’s latest Kirin 990 SoC. The most notable highlight of the phone is obviously its foldable display with 8 inches in size when unfolded. When folded, its display measures 6.6 inches on the front and 6.38 inches on the back. The device is powered by a Kirin 980 SoC and comes with a Balong 5000 model to enable 5G connectivity.
Huawei Mate X: Price & Availability
The Huawei’s first foldable phone is retailed at a massive price of CNY 16,999 (around Rs. 170,700). Users can purchase the handset in China from 15 November at 10:08 in a limited stock via Vmall. Moreover, owners of the phone can get a 50 percent discount for replacing its display for the first time.
Huawei Mate X: Specifications
The Huawei Mate X flaunts an 8-inch OLED panel with 2,220 x 2,480 resolution when unfolded, while it will be split into a 6.6-inch display on the front with 1,148 x 2,480p resolution and a 6.38-inch display at the back with the same resolution.
It is driven by a Kirin 980 octa-core chipset along with Balong 5000 modem that enables 5G connectivity. As mentioned, the successor to the phone - Huawei Mate Xs will come with the newly-announced Kirin 990 SoC in March next year.
The device is available in a single memory configuration with 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage. It ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box with EMUI 9.1 on top and it is also upgradable to Google’s Android 10 OS. In terms of camera, it is packed with a total of four cameras, which are a 40MP (f/1.8) main sensor, a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle camera, an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto unit, and a 3D ToF camera. Fueling the whole setup is a beefy battery with a capacity of 4,500 mAh, and it can be quickly refilled with 55W Huawei SuperCharge technology.
