Today (24/2), Huawei has officially launched Huawei Mate Xs - its second foldable smartphone at an online launch event. Basically, this is an upgraded version of the Huawei Mate X last year as it comes with a more powerful hardware configuration and of course also more expensive than Mate X. The device supports dual-mode 5G connectivity (SA & NSA). Under the hood, it gets a 4,500 mAh battery that supports Huawei's 55W SuperCharge fast-charging standard. It is equipped with an 8-inch main display when unfolded or a 6.6-inch front panel and a 6.38-inch cover display when folded. There is a multi-window function that can divide the wide display into two independent task interfaces.

Huawei Mate Xs: Price & Availability
The Mate Xs will be officially launched globally starting next month, with a retail price of 2,499 Euro (around Rs. 1,95,800).
Huawei Mate Xs: Specifications & Features
The Huawei Mate Xs is still equipped with an 8-inch OLED screen that supports a resolution of 2480 x 2000 pixels and an 8:7 aspect ratio like the Mate X. When folded, the screen of the device will be divided into two parts, of which the upper is a 6.6-inch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio while the lower is a 6.38-inch with a 25:9 aspect ratio that can be used as a viewfinder for selfies.

The phone has a Falcon Wing design, with a frame made from zirconium-based liquid metal, which is 30% harder than titanium alloy. There is also a flip button that can unfold the device instantly. Software-wise, it runs on Android 10-based EMUI 10 out of the box, but it comes with Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services. That means users won’t be able to use Google apps such as YouTube, Gmail, and more.
Inside, the Huawei Mate Xs has the hardware power of a Kirin 990 5G processor, more power than the Kirin 980 on the Mate X. It is known that the new chipset has a 23% increase in CPU performance, a 39% increase in GPU performance, and a 460% increase in NPU. Besides, the chipset is also said to consume significantly less battery compared to its predecessor.

The Mate Xs comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. According to Huawei, the device supports more 5G bands than the Galaxy Fold 5G and has faster data transfer speeds than Samsung's smartphones.
Regarding the camera, the Mate Xs is equipped with a 40MP SuperSensing wide-angle RYYB camera with a 27mm focal length and f / 1.8 aperture. In addition, it also has an 8MP telephoto camera with an 80mm focal length with OIS and an aperture of f / 2.4. Finally, below the telephoto camera will be a 16MP ultra wide-angle sensor with a 17mm focal length, f / 2.2 aperture, and a ToF camera, which will help speed up the focus as well as taking bokeh shots. The Mate Xs has an ISO level of up to 2048000, a 45x zoom capability (3x optical and 30x digital), macro photography within 2.5cm, as well as OIS and AIS.

It comes with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W SuperCharge fast charging technology. Users can fully charge this phone from 0% to 85% in just 30 minutes, which is about 2.3 times faster than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G. Finally, it is equipped with a flexible bionic graphite cooling system that offers balanced heat dissipation and smooth foldability. Connectivity features of the Mate Xs include dual-mode 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11, 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C.
