The original Galaxy Fold ran into trouble with dust making their way inside the phone, forcing Samsung to go back to the drawing board for a redesign. When the Galaxy Z Flip is introduced, most users thought that like the fragile screen, the Korean tech giant must have found a solution to that issue, but as it turns out, it has not.
iFixit has conducted a test on the dust-resistant ability of the Galaxy Z Flip and the result might disappoint anyone who is on the market for a foldable phone.

Samsung did not try to hide the fact that the phone is not dust-resistant though. The company has warned users of this. Small particles might infiltrate other parts of the phone can cause us trouble but the most serious consequence is with the hinge.
What is so special about the Galaxy Z Flip is the hinge that enables the screen to be folded in half. But if the hinge is coated in dust, users might feel a crunch when they fold the phone up. According to iFixit, this can possibly happen if users are not careful.
Samsung has been asked to comment but we have heard nothing from the company yet. iFixit revealed that while the phone was not dust-resistant, it is water-resistant, meaning if you accidentally spill water on it, it stands a better chance of surviving than when you leave it in a place full of dust.
Please bear in mind that this test is not a realistic example of a real world situation. But it does show us what may happen if users do not take Samsung’s advice.
