With a high number of Smartphones options on the Indian market, it seems impossible to land the most suitable one for your particular needs and get the best value for the money you spend. As we notice an increasing demand for the under Rs. 10.000 price range, we compile the list below focusing on the options that have practical features and belong to the aforementioned price bracket.

Realme 2

Realme 2

No list of best value smartphones can be complete without the Realme 2. Launched in August, this phone stands out for having a 4,230mAh battery, which can last for a long time. It survives a day of moderate use with up to half of the power left. In a test which plays an HD video in a loop, the phone lasts for an impressive time of 17 hours and 30 minutes.

Other key features include face unlock, 4GB of RAM, dual cameras, rear fingerprint scanner, display notch, and dual 4G VoLTE support.

For the downsides, at this price range, the phone’s cameras can only be ranked “average”. The display is rather dim and you can still notice reflections. The quality of the fingerprint sensor is also substandard.

The Realme 2 is available in India at different price brackets. Paying out Rs. 8.990 and you will have a basic model with 32 GB of storage and RAM of 3 GB. In November, the price was bumped up to Rs. 9,499. To double the storage and add 1 more GB to the RAM, expect to pay Rs. 10,990.

The color range includes Diamond Black, Diamond Blue, and Diamond Red.

Infinix Note 5

Infinix Note 5

If you are familiar with and support Android One, a program aims at bringing users secure and fresh smartphones, you will love this model. The Infinix Note 5 was the first from Infinix to join this initiative. With this phone, you can have a rear fingerprint sensor, a battery of 4.500mAh, a selfie camera of 16-megapixel, MediaTek Helio P23 SoC, and a full-HD and full View display. As part of the Android One program, it has 2 years straight of security and software updates.

As you get what you pay for, there is still room for improvement in the Infinix Note 5’s cameras. And do not put much trust in its fingerprint scanner either.

For Rs. 9,999, you have this model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. Add Rs. 1000 to this price and you can expect an Infinix Note 5 with double the storage and RAM of 4GB.

This phone is available at Flipkart and comes in three colors, Berlin Grey, Milan Black, and Ice Blue.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2

Xiaomi Redmi Y2

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has dual cameras on its back and a selfie camera of 16-megapixel in front. Other highlights include face unlock, 18:9 display, RAM of 3GB to 4GB.

Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, the phone comes in two levels of storage, which are 32GB and 64GB.

The front camera can recognize faces and apply enhancements. It is also equipped with a selfie light so that users can take pictures when in the dimmer environment.

About the criticism, the camera takes some time to recognize faces and the lowlight camera is mediocre.

Redmi Y2 comes in a number of varieties. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will set you back Rs. 9,999. For Rs. 12,999, you have 4GB for RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.

You have a choice among its colors including Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold. Go on Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home or visit a offline store if you want to buy this phone.

Xiaomi Redmi 6

1

Xiaomi Redmi 6

This Xiaomi Redmi 6 features good hardware, thanks to the latest MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM update. Besides, it has face unlock powered by AI, micro SD card slot, dual VolTE, and dual rear cameras.

As with the Redmi Y2, the low-light camera is of average performance. Plus, the MIUI ads are getting annoying. So bear in mind these nuisances before you decide to buy a Redmi 6.

For a base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage, expect to pay Rs. 7,999. For the same RAM capacity and 64GB storage, the price hikes up to Rs. 9,499. A recent adjustment has increased the basic model’s price by Rs. 500 while keeping that of the 64GB version stable.

For a Xiaomi Redmi 6, visit Mi.com or Flipkart.

Honor 7C

Honor 7C

The Honor 7C stands out for having a quick and precise face unlock, a cleverly designed metal body. Powered by Snapdragon 450 SoC, it packs serious power for this price range. With this phone, you have dual camera setup, rear fingerprint sensor, and a battery of 3,000mAh. You can choose either the 3GB or 4GB version with this Honor 7C.

As with other phones on this list, its camera is mediocre. The UI can be laggy sometimes, which is a serious downside in this reasonably priced phone.

For Rs. 9,999, users have 3GB for RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. Adding Rs. 2,000 and the storage and RAM will be increased to 64GB and 4GB respectively.

Amazon India has exclusive distribution of this phone. Its color range includes Black, Gold, and Blue.

Other suggestions
The following phones do not belong to the under Rs. 10,000 bracket but the difference in price is small. What we would like to recommend here include Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. Realme 1, and Moto X4.

For the price of Rs. 10,999, you have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, impressive full HD display, better quality of cameras, and a great performance of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1.

For users who intend to use their phones for some intensive workload, the Realme 1 fits the bill, courtesy of the MediaTek Helio P60. Besides, the 18:9 display, long battery life, and microSD card slot are also a plus.  The Moto X4 is not exactly a newly launched model like other phones on this list but the fact that it is a budget IP68 certified smartphone is enough to make up for this. There is more. It is entitled to get Android Pie update, which gives you one more reason to pay a little extra to get this phone.
