Alleged Xiaomi Foldable Phone Appears In A Short Video

A leaked video just shows an alleged Xiaomi's foldable phone and it also shows that the device is running Xiaomi's MIUI 10.

It seems like Xiaomi could also be working on a foldable phone of their own. The Samsung’s foldable phone has already been showcased and might be released this quarter under the name of Galaxy F. And now a video of an alleged Xiaomi’s foldable phone has just surfaced online.

Xiaomi Foldable Phone Leak Evleaks

The video, which is 19 seconds long, was posted on Twitter by leakster Evan Blass and it shows a tablet which is later folded into a smaller-size display device. The leakster himself couldn’t confirm the authenticity of this video, and he said that the phone is allegedly made by the China-based Xiaomi. However, we can see the MIUI 10 in the last second of the video, and the icons also show a design language similar to the one of the Xiaomi’s MIUI.

After a Chinese company named Royole introduced the world’s first foldable phone, Royole FlexPai, the world’s biggest phone maker Samsung also teased its own foldable phone, Galaxy F, at its annual developer conference last year. After that, many large phone manufacturers have also trying to develop one of their own. Oppo has also announced that its foldable smartphone is on the making.

The foldable phone can be a trend in 2019, but unless phone makers found a way to implement it perfectly, it will not be widely used in the recent future. Samsung is not the only company to develop a foldable phone as Huawei and LG are also working on a phone that can be unfolded a tablet. Flexible displays have already been around for quite a while, but it seems like no one is capable of fully utilizing it yet.

But phone makers don’t stop at the foldable phone as transparent displays for a phone might already be in the marking and become a thing this year. Sony recently filed a new patent describing a method for a new type of transparent display on a phone, which had a dual display phone, one on the back and the other on the front.
