Though Motorola hasn’t announced the successor to its foldable Razr, some new leaks have already shown us a 360-degree look at what the next Razr could be.
Over the weekend, Twitter leaker Evan Blass posted a gif illustrating a device that looks like the foldable Razr released last year. In the past few weeks, Blass has tweeted multiple static renders of the phone, including a logo that suggests Motorola’s next foldable phone will be called the Razr 5G, which is in line with many’s speculations.

The so-called Razr 5G seems to have the same look regarding the form factor, which still relies on that same old hinge mechanism. We hope that it won’t be as creaky and stiff as it was last year. On the other hand, the notches may get smaller and smoother at both the top and bottom of the phone. The rendered design also appears more streamlined without the fingerprint sensor and the display looks bigger like previous rumors said. In Jully, industry insider Ross young said that the screen size of the foldable Razr will increase from 6.2 to 6.7 inches, matching the screen size of the Galaxy Z Flip.
If the render is true or close enough to the actual phone, the biggest change in the Motorola Razr design must the be camera. On last year’s Razr, the camera was raised but the one this year would be even more noticeable.

In terms of specifications, according to a source speaking with XDA Developers, the next Razr will be powered by the Snapdragon 765, featuring 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, a 2,845mAh battery, and a 48MP camera. The rumored 5G name paired with the Snapdragon 765 chipset suggests that the handset will support 5G networks.
The pricing of the phone remains unknown but it could be an important factor that will affect its sales given that 5G is getting accepted more widely. However, even with upgraded specs, the $1,500 price tag may still be too high and could possibly a dealbreaker.
The second-gen foldable Razr is expected to be unveiled on September 9, at which time all the rumors will either be confirmed or scrapped.
