You Can Now Hire An ‘Instagram Butler’ On Your Vacation At Ibis Hotel Chain
Harin - Nov 29, 2018
A new service from Ibis hotel chain offers a new service where you can hire a 'Instagram butler'.
The primary reason behind the concerning digital addiction is people wanting to capture every moment and give other people a look into their daily life. Since people too emerge in their social media world, they often miss out the real experience. You can ask yourself when was your last vacation without smartphone and hundred different selfies for Instagram?
Switzerland-based Ibis hotel’s owners understand this, so they are offering a new service called ‘social media sitter’. Basically, a ‘social media sitter’ is someone who posts on Instagram and other social platforms on your behalf while you are out there enjoying your vacation.
If you want to try this service, a website named RelaxWePost has been created by the hotel chain for customers to book and hire their social media sitter or also known as ‘Instagram Butler’. All pictures of your lavish lifestyle will be posted by your social media sitter, even when you are sunbathing on the beach or taking a dip in the pool.
Your social media sitters can have expertise in different fields from travel, fashion, architecture, nature, beauty, and lifestyle, just for you to choose based on your own preferences. So, the big question is how much will this actually cost? The price starts at $90 a day and can go up. This will depend on the expertise of your social media sitter and your specifications.
As the Instagram sitters need to include in the caption the hashtag #postedbysocialmediasitter. Therefore, your friends might notice and find out about this whole social media sitter thing. A solution to this is that you can hide this hashtag under a ton of other ones.
This is only Ibis’s pilot project, and people are viewing this as a marketing stunt. But there is more to this service than what it seems to be.
On Instagram accounts of many European social media stars like well-known German model Sara Leutenegger, lifestyle blogger Daniela Correria and Cristina Gheiceanu, videos and pictures from the guests’ vacation have been posted.
For Ibis hotel rooms that were reserved for the 1st and 2nd of December, the booking for an Instagram sitter will be available until November 30. The service will only be accessible at Ibis hotels located in Zurich and Geneva.
