Vodafone India: Free SIM card exchange, free 4G data
While 5G technology is an upcoming future of communication around the world, 4G connectivity is remaining its position as a standard in several countries. In India, there’s a large number of users who still keep using the 3G connection through their phones. One of the major players in the Indian telecommunication market, Vodafone, has recently updated a new plan that offers free 4G data if a 3G customer would upgrade to the 4G network. Little by little, Vodafone is trying the best to build a strong user base across the country.
Lots of 3G customers in India are still continuing with their 3G SIM cards that need to be replaced by the 4G ones.
For those who want to have a change, visiting any Vodafone stores is the first and foremost step. The process won’t charge you much time, it depends on circumstances such as the queue in the store. Every customer is eligible to trade in an old SIM card and receive another 4G one for the data incentives. When the customer holds the new SIM card, he needs to insert it into a 4G smartphone in order to completely activate the service and get free data.
The new SIM card exchange plan might bring advantages to both customers and Vodafone.
A smart move of Vodafone
In India, several telecom operators are trying to gain new customers as much as they can. According to a report in January by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI), Vodafone India has a market share of 35.12 percent. However, in term of new subscribers, it even lost 3.5 million customers. This is an alert to the company and the latest move proves that they are putting an effort to compete with other telcos and regain a remarkable number of customers.
