On April 30, Tim Cook, the Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc., said that the company has made a lot of efforts to turn its new streaming service called Apple TV+ into one of the outstanding services which viewers will consider to buy. Instead of killing the streaming service of Netflix Inc., it will coexist with this leading internet entertainment service in the world.
Back to March, Apple revealed its intention to release a streaming service which contains much original content given by renowned celebrities such as Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey. According to its plan, the company will invest $2 billion to focus on programming. However, at that time, it didn’t reveal the real value of this service.
After iPhone sales go down, investors have put much interest in television-related products of Apple. The reason behind it is so simple. Subscription services take an important part that directly affects the company’s financial results.
However, Apple will have to face a lot of strong competitiveness from many other rivals, for instance, Walt Disney Co. with a monthly service of $6.99 this autumn. In terms of price, YouTube of Alphabet Inc. revealed that the company was going to raise its online service called YouTube TV including over channels. Its new monthly price may be at $ 49.99.
On April 30, Cook said to investors on a conference call that his company will have no intention to provide viewers all necessary things.
He also referred to streaming TV services that are offered via the internet, instead of common cable service.
