Only one day ago, BSNL reportedly planned to go on a strike against the government’s favor towards Reliance Jio, an Indian mobile network operator headquartered in Maharashtra. What are the reasons behind this incident?
1.BSNL has still worked well even when lacking the 4G technology
According to the employees union of BSNL, the employees have been hard-working to improve the financial situation of the company and expand the number of its customers. What makes the tech community impressed the most is that BSNL succeeded with only 2G and 3G networks, and no 4G network that is a powerful tool of all of the other companies at that time.
2. The government seemingly forgets to allocate 4G spectrum to BSNL
While other telecommunication companies have deployed the 4G network and even developed the fifth generation network, BSNL is still working with the 2G and 3G technologies. Does the government forgets BSNL when allocating 4G spectrum?!
3. Reliance Jio is planning to eliminate its all rivals with its new game plan
BSNL unions stated that Reliance Jio of Mukesh Ambani aims to remove all of the other telecommunication companies in the market. Of course, those include BSNL owned by the Indian government.
4. Reliance Jio is pushing the whole telecom industry into a crisis
The atmosphere of crisis has covered the entire telecom industry because of what Reliance Jio has done. It is the super-cheap price of its package plans that cause this situation.
5. Why does Reliance Jio offer its services at a little cost?
According to the All Unions and Associations of BSNL, the reason behind it may be that Reliance Jio wants to improve its financial health.
6. BSNL wants to occupy a slice in the 4G pie
Similar to other companies, BSNL also intends to develop the 4G spectrum; however, the government seems to have its own intentions when deciding not to allocate the 4G technology to the company (until now). Whereby, the public companies have lost the chance to defeat Reliance Jio.
7. Going on a strike for a better future of BSNL
The employees’ union has decided to organize a strike to claim the benefits BSNL deserves to receive. It may be a long-term strike.
