Regarding a recent government court deciding that Reddit users can stay unknown, online free speech has certainly been given a triumph.
From now on, the First Amendment will protect everyone from all over the world who happens to be Reddit users. They have the right to raise their voice to their will, given that Reddit is considered a platform of the US with audiences who are US citizens as well.

Darkspilver – the one who uploaded internal and public documents from Tract Society and The Watch Tower Bible online – was represented by the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Reddit was ordered to provide information of Darkspilver’s identity by Watch Tower, yet a motion was filed by the EFF to subdue this, quoting:

In 2019, an advertisement of Jehovah’s Witness asking for donations and a chart indicating the organization’s kept data were published by Darkspilver. Those both aforementioned items are considered copyrighted by Watch Tower.
People of Reddit state that it’s fair enough for him to post the ad since his initial purpose was for others to comment and criticize.

Darkspilver indicated that he wanted everyone, especially people of Jehovah’s Witness community, to know about this organization’s stored data and the thing that they would do regarding the mentioned information.
According to the court, this copyright case is fully in support of Darkspilver. On the off chance that Watch Tower still wish to go on with the case, they would have to suit the pseudonym of Darkspilver.
Darkspilver’s identity is restricted to be discovered only under the eyes of an attorney.
Reddit – also known as “the front page of the internet” – was established in 2005. It stands out as one of the most visited websites globally. At this very moment, Reddit only ranks behind Facebook, Youtube, Amazon, and Google. It comes before Twitter, Netflix, Instagram, Wikipedia, Yahoo and also LinkedIn in the rank.
As in response to a comment request, Reddit did not react.
