According to CBS, on February 10, a high-ranking official of Saudi Arabia revealed that the desert country didn’t have any hand in the latest scandal of Jeff Bezos.
A few days ago, on his blog post, Amazon’s CEO accused the US tabloid named National Enquirer of conducting a series of “blackmail and extortion” after it had collected the intimate text messages Bezos sent to Lauren Sanchez.
When considering the possible reasons behind the exposure of his sneaky relationship, Jeff Bezos revealed the bond between American Media Inc. (or AMI for short), the publisher of the National Enquirer and Saudi Arabia. Besides, the publisher just released a magazine for the kingdom in March 2018.
As the owner of The Washington Post, Jeff Bezos also mentioned the killing of his columnist named Jamal Khashoggi in October 2018 conducted by a Saudi group who were allegedly involved with the Saudi government.
In addition, David Pecker, the AMI’s head, felt angry when Jeff Bezos required his private investigators to find out the origin of what the Enquirer said. In an interview with CBS, Adel al-Jubeir, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that Saudi Arabia hadn’t been related to the leak of Bezos's intimate text messages.
Also on February 10, Elkan Abramowitz, AMI’s attorney had a talk with ABC News; however he didn’t point out the leaker’s name. The attorney just offered a few details concerning the identity of this character.
Here are some notable revelations. According to The Daily Beast, AMI sources said that the leaker was Michael Sanchez, the brother of Jeff Bezos’s mistress.
As per Saudi Arabia’s participation, he confirmed that the kingdom had no role in this case. American Media Inc. "doesn't have any Saudi Arabian financing." He said.
