It was back in 2005 when a website called Reddit was launched for the first time, with the purpose of hosting social discussions for the online community. Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, founders of Reddit, never imagine that one day their platform would massively unite the youth without any border, even at a level that Facebook could feel threatened.

From data compiled by Alexa Internet, Reddit was ranked as the fifth in the list of most-visited sites in the US as well as the 13th in the world. For years, the platform has been describing itself as the front page of the Internet. In Reddit, young minds are given a space for discussing everything, including their frustrations and online debates for a large variety of fields, from academics, political issues to sex. Reddit has taken Indian users by storm as what it has done with the rest of the world.
The online discussion fever is growing among the millennials in India. As commented by a college student in Noida, the site has helped her know more about what happens in not only the country but also the world.

Unlike Facebook or Twitter, the number of users of the popular online forum is undisclosed. However, a ballpark figure was globally 330 million in terms of active users, as commonly known as Redditors. Notably, a total of approximately 1.6 billion visits were recorded in April this year.
