When travelling by trains, the most ideal way to enjoy spare time on long journeys may be reading books, listening to music, or watching favourite films. That’s why Central Railways plans to help all passengers to have a fun time with many various recreations from soap operas, audio-video songs or movies for free on their trains.

Each zonal railway in Mumbai will offer hotspots for local trains, and therefore, their passengers who have already downloaded a certain application on their smartphones can access to all kinds of available contents. The system is now under test and all of the trains in India may be equipped with it by July 2019.
In addition, the mobile app under development also supports many languages for users to choose from.

The Central Railways is searching for how to earn revenues from advertisements that are pre-loaded in all of these hotspots. Among railways stations in India, there will be 18 zones equipped with directives as a move to bring more revenue to the division.
In addition to the Central Railways, the Western Railways has started to set up a WiFi facility to offer the wireless connection to its all passengers on local trains for free.
