On Wednesday, Oppo claimed that the company had successfully made a 5G WhatsApp call at its R&D center in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad R&D center carried out the WhatsApp call to demonstrate the speed and band of 5G. They also downloaded movies and streamed Cloud games to further prove the lighting fast speed.
According to Tasleem Arif, Vice president of Oppo India R&D center, the WhatsApp video call test has proven that the company is future-ready for the rollout of 5G in India.
He also said that the success of the tests also proves Oppo’s commitment to invest in the latest technology to simplify the lives of its customers.
Oppo Find X 2, the company’s 5G-enabled premium smartphone would make its debut soon and later come to the Indian market.
Oppo has four R&D centers and six research institutes all around the world, and an International Design Center based in London. The company said that the center in Hyderabad played a vital role in the deployment of 5G technology in India.
Oppo has long considered India as a strategic market. The Chinese company has committed Rs 2,200 crore of investment to the country. Every year, its factory in Greater Noida manufactures around 50 million phones.
This week, the company debuted the Reno 3 pro with what it claimed the world’s first 44MP+2MP dual selfie cameras for an excellent selfie. The price of this phone starts at Rs 29,990 in India.
Interested users can get the 8GB/12GB variant at the price of Rs 29,990 while the 8GB/256GB will set you back Rs 32,990.
