Ola Has Reportedly Bought The Artificial Intelligence Startup Pikup.ai

On August 13, Ola made an official announcement that it managed to acquire the Bangalore-headquartered artificial intelligence (AI) startup company named Pikup.ai. The Indian ride-hailing company hasn’t yet revealed the exact amount for this acquisition.

According to the deal, employees who are working at pikup.ai will become soon Ola's new members. In terms of the AI startup, it was founded by Ritwik Saikia and Inder Singh. It has focused on leveraging autonomous technologies from computer vision, sensor fusion, to AI to bring AI-based solutions to Indian businesses.
The Ola's co-founder and CTO Ankit Bhati made a statement,

Also, Ola has increasingly focused on deploying deep technology and advanced analytics to create more promising mobility solutions to both the Indian market and the global market.

Early 2019, the company revealed its plan to build an Advanced Technology Centre in the San Francisco Bay Area in a bid to develop next-generation mobility technologies including connected, electric, and self-driving vehicles.
