Do you remember KiKi Challenge, the oh-so-popular social media challenge where people jump out of a moving vehicle, dancing while the car still moves along, then bounce back inside it? Now, a new viral trend has appeared after the KiKi Challenge died down. This so-called trend is influencing the youth of Kerala.
This challenge is called the Nillu Nillu Challenge which involves a group of people hop out of nowhere to in front of a moving vehicle on the road and dance until this vehicle stops.
Nillu Nillu videos have flooded Kerala’s social media these past few days. They first appeared on a video sharing app called Tik Tok. After that, they have been widely spread to other social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.
It began as a simple video with young people jumping in front of motorbikes driven by their friends who already know about the plan. After that, the video has been taken to a whole new level, a hazardous one. Videos are surfacing on the internet with young people jumping in front of buses, making drivers startled. However, there wasn’t any serious harm, not yet at least, as the driver was alert and stepped on the break on time.
The song Nillu Nillu which is literally translated as ‘stop stop’ was taken from a 2004 film called Rain Rain Come Again. After the trend, it has suddenly become so popular. There has been no accident reported up until now. However, with the popularity of this challenge, it will undoubtedly be out of control.
The Kerala Police has noticed this challenge and viewed it as a threat. The police force then put a warning on their social media feeds. They warned young people to control themselves and not to put themselves and other people in danger.
