Nike has recently redesigned its Huarache line called Adapt Huaraches, which comes with a self-lacing motor and allows wearers to control their shoes via Siri. To loosen the shoelaces, they just need to say a command “Siri, release my shoes” to the Nike Adapt application on iPhone or Apple Watch.
Similar to the original Air Huaraches manufactured in 1991, the Adapt Huaraches is designed with a supportive exoskeleton and neoprene bootie. Also, Nike adds 02 LED lights into the new version, and as such, wearers can access the app to adjust colors rapidly. Preset modes let them change fits, as well as choose between many various colors according to their activities and foot type.
The US footwear producer announced that wearers can keep track of the “individual’s most employed features of the shoe” via Siri Shortcuts. However, many believe that Nike is cramming too many features on its products. In addition to two basic features including “putting on” and “taking off”, the wearers of the Adapt Huaraches may also change colors by saying “Siri, change my lights to a peppy green.”
The latest version of the Huarache line is expected to be available on the SNKRS application of Nike and its some retailers on September 13th. Until now, the company hasn’t yet revealed its new product’s price.
At the beginning of this year, the Adapt BB sneakers that come with a self-lacing feature and Bluetooth connection was first introduced and sold for 350 dollars. However, this product line rapidly faced a few trouble caused by pairing issues from the Android update. As a result, wearers couldn’t put their sneakers on or tighten them automatically. In fact, it has taken Siri much time to understand speech; therefore, it comes as no surprise that Siri informs you about the weather when you want it to loosen your shoelaces.
