Microsoft CEO: We Will Not Use Customer Data To Make Profit

Microsoft CEO stated that his company does not generate any profit from users data but instead, Microsoft is trying to protect those data.

While Facebook and Google are involved in customer data scandals, Microsoft’s chief executive – Satya Nadella has stated that their company does not use customer data to bring profits to the company like other companies.
Nadella told The Times on Monday that Microsoft has not tried to generate revenue from the data of the users on its web browser Bing and LinkedIn, which Microsoft bought in 2016.

Microsoft has bought LinkedIn for $ 26 billion (nearly Rs. 1.9 million crores), which now has more than 560 million users around the world while Bing, a search engine Microsoft bought in 2009, has now become ranks third biggest search engine in the entire world.
Nadella said that profit is not the primary aim of Microsoft. The company focused to maximize utility for users to provide the best performance and experience. Nadella said:

Earlier last week, Nadella called on social network and technology companies and social network managers to protect the privacy of their users as a human right, urging governments and companies to join hands to protect one of the most vulnerable and important section in the society.
Nadella expressed satisfaction and agree to the data protection regulations General (GDPR) of the European Union as this is the first step of the authorities to secure private data.
According to Nadella, we all need to consider the right to privacy on the digital experience as a human right. He said:


Nowadays, cybersecurity and technology-related incidents are on the rise, and major technology companies are focusing on solving and seeking ways to increase privacy. for their users.
He suggested that Internet users have to be the one in control of their own data and the responsible of keeping them safe fall on the hand of tech companies.
