According to CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft has made some big changes to the company’s HR practices to tackle a series of accusations concerning sexual harassment. In addition, discrimination is now being considered.

Quartz reported that Nadella wrote a letter to his employees on April 15. He said Microsoft would build a new model called “Employee Advocacy Team.”
In recent times, the big tech company has got a lot of claims on sexual harassment from its female employees. That’s why its CEO decided to write a letter.
Since March 20, many have been shocked when hearing about some sexual harassment allegations Microsoft is facing. For example, female workers are required to sit on another worker’s lap before an HR leader’s very eyes. Another case is that a lot of female workers receive many sexist comments at the workplace.

In his letter, Nadella said,

One of the most notable emails the company has received came from a female worker’s account. She said if she didn’t do sexual acts as requested by another worker who worked for the Microsoft’s partner, she would be killed.
In spite of raising the alarm, she didn’t receive any support as well as any consolation from both the management and HR.
According to a revelation from another worker, while holding a position as a “Microsoft Partner”, she was said to sit on another worker’s lap.
In her letter, “As a Microsoft Partner, was asked to sit on someone’s lap twice in one meeting in front of HR and other executives.” It came as a big surprise that nobody was against demand.

As per Satya Nadella, the CEO said Microsoft would offer some support as well as information for those who have made complaints concerning bad behaviors of other employees. He said,

Sexual harassment claims don’t seem to be a strange topic towards Microsoft. In March 2018, the tech company didn’t tackle seriously up to 238 cases relating to discrimination or sexual harassment from 2010 to 2016.
