Airtel recently has rolled out a Rs 398 plan for its prepaid users to rival Reliance Jio’s Rs 398 plan. It seems that the competition among telecom operators including Airtel and Reliance Jio gets much fiercer than it was.
Airtel is the second largest telecom operator in India and provides a series of mobile services and voice services, like 4G LTE, 3G, GSM or VoLTE.
Back to its new prepaid plan, Airtel provides unlimited calls without any FUP. That means the 250-minute limit each day won’t be an issue to its subscribers anymore. Additionally, subscribers also get 1.5GB data and 100 local and nation SMS per day.
The Rs 398 plan is valid for the period of 70 days. As such, in fact, the plan offers 105GB data for the whole subscription.
Telecom Talk reported that Airtel’s Rs 398 plan is available in the country. Apart from this plan, Airtel also offers another prepaid plan of Rs 399. Along with Rs 1 difference, these two plans house the different data and validity. More exactly, the second one - the Rs 399 plan - provides the daily data of 1.4GB and the valid period of 84 days, instead of 70 days.
Airtel’s purpose to launch this new plan aims to compete with the same-valued plan of its rival firm, Reliance Jio. Users choosing the Rs 398 plan of Reliance Jio will get unlimited calls, 100 SMS and 2GB data per day in 70 days. In other words, they will get more data.
In addition to Airtel and Reliance Jio, Vodafone is a stubborn competitor. The firm also has the Rs 399 plan with unlimited calls and 1.4GB/day of internet data during 399 days from the subscription day. According to the plan, the 250-minute FUP limit a day is still applied.
A few days ago, the Rs 99 plan from Airtel has turned to the Rs 119 plan under which the firm will offer up to 300 SMS, unlimited calls and 2GB of internet data to users with the validity of 28 days.
