LG Launched Its Watch W7 As First Hybrid Run Wear OS Smartwatch For $450

Along with the LG V40 ThinQ, LG’s smartwatch has also just been launched. This new smartwatch called LG Watch W7 is the first hybrid wear OS smartwatch developed by LG. The watch carries both the mechanical hands and the digital functionalities which means it has a display with real mechanical watch hands. The LG Watch W7 will run an OS developed by Google called Wear OS which can be customized in many ways.

This is the first smartwatch of LG that run new Google Wear OS. LG states that the targeted users of this smartwatch are people who want to own a watch that has a traditional watch’s look but have the smartwatch’s convenient functionalities. This watch is a product developed by LG and its partner - Soprod SA based in Switzerland. The watch features a stainless body along with traditional watch hands and also ‘'high-precision quartz movement'. In addition, all standard 22 mm watch bands will be compatible with this watch.
For the specifications, the watch will be powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 SOC along with a 1.2-inch LCD display at a resolution of 360x360 pixels and a PPI of 300. The dimensions of the watch are 44.5x45.4x12.9mm with 79,5 grams of weight. The device is equipped with 4GB of internal storage and 768MB of RAM.
The watch will be backed by a battery of 240 mAh. In terms of communication, it is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB Type-C 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.2 along with pressure and 9-axis sensors. The watch will also feature IP68 dust and water-resistant technology.
The LG Watch W7 is claimed to be able to run for a maximum span of two days in full operation mode with just a single charge or three to four days in analog-only mode. In addition, users can use the watch for a maximum of 100 days if they run it in traditional watch-only mode and disable the smart features. It will also have an altimeter, a stopwatch, a barometer, and compass sensors.

The price for the US market of this LG first Smartwatch is set at $449.99 which is roughly Rs. 33,200 and will be available via Best Buy. People interested in this watch can preorder it from October 7 and the official release date of the watch is October 14. More details about the date of launching and prices will be locally released at the time the watch is available.
