As the 21-day lockdown is still in effect in India, video and phone calls seem like the only ways people have to keep in touch with their loved ones. Those who are unable to connect to the Internet could take advantage of Reliance Jio’s latest offer for owners of Jio phones.
For those users, the telco provides 100 free SMS and 100 minutes of calling, also free of charge. This offer is valid through April 17, 2020. The company also announces that after users have reached the cap, they can still receive incoming calls.
In addition to these benefits, Jio has also introduced some other channels with which users can recharge their plans, including ATM, UPI, call, SMS, and many more.
Broadband users are also included in this latest offer of Jio with a brand new plan providing 10 Mbps broadband for free. However, this plan is valid during the lockdown only. When the validity period ends, users will be automatically switched back to existing plans.
Those interested in this new offer can go to MyJio app or the official website of Jio to subscribe.
Another welcoming plan from Jio is the work from home offer. With Rs. 251, users will have 2 GB a day for 51 days in a row.
Users who are unable to top up their accounts online can do so at ATMs as Jio has collaborated with banks to allow this channel.
As service centers and shops are now closed to comply with the lockdown rules, this method hopes to make recharging easier for people who have no access to Internet payment methods.
The banks participating in this plan include HDFC Bank, DCB Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, AUF Bank, and IDBI Bank.
