India holds its rank in the top 3 countries worldwide in AI - Artificial Intelligence skills. The country also holds the top 9 in AI specialists, top 3 with AI research, plus top 20 in the Index for AI Readiness. The current rising demand for high AI technologies is a huge opportunity for the country.
Intel AIDC and AI DevCamp
Intel AIDC is one of some efforts from the company to encourage AI development with engineers, analysts, developers, and scientists. It is also a show of innovation in collaboration with many industry leaders.
During the event of 2019, Intel demonstrated use cases of Wipro (powered by Intel AI). They showed that this tech could be used to diagnose medical image, detect pipelines' anomalies, detect surface cracks in complex structures, bridges, and buildings.
Prakash Mallya from Intel India has commented on this effort. He said that talent is the key to competitive advantage. Thus, India currently has a huge opportunity with its massive pool of statisticians, mathematicians, and programmers. We should nurture all those talents to improve their skills for AI and analytics.
The company also has trained 50 percent of its employees in the country on the basic concepts of AI.
