Intel Wants To Support The AI Ecosystem In India

Up to now, it has trained over 150,000 professors, students, developers in India.

India holds its rank in the top 3 countries worldwide in AI - Artificial Intelligence skills. The country also holds the top 9 in AI specialists, top 3 with AI research, plus top 20 in the Index for AI Readiness. The current rising demand for high AI technologies is a huge opportunity for the country.

Intel knows that moving AI tech from theory to actual real-world application is tough and complicated. To do that, they need a combination of novel and established software and hardware solutions. Therefore, the company wishes to work with the country's AI community to speed up the progress to use AI to improve our lives.

Intel AIDC and AI DevCamp

Intel AIDC is one of some efforts from the company to encourage AI development with engineers, analysts, developers, and scientists. It is also a show of innovation in collaboration with many industry leaders.

During the event of 2019, Intel demonstrated use cases of Wipro (powered by Intel AI). They showed that this tech could be used to diagnose medical image, detect pipelines' anomalies, detect surface cracks in complex structures, bridges, and buildings.

As part of the company commitment to support the country's AI ecosystem, Intel has also hosted the 2nd AI DevCamp in Bengaluru. Created by practitioners of AI, this conference features an AI development workshop to provide about 150 developers experience using AI software and hardware from Intel.
They have also announced that the company has trained over 150,00 professors, students, and developers from 150 organizations in India in the last 2 years.

Prakash Mallya from Intel India has commented on this effort. He said that talent is the key to competitive advantage. Thus, India currently has a huge opportunity with its massive pool of statisticians, mathematicians, and programmers. We should nurture all those talents to improve their skills for AI and analytics.

The company also has trained 50 percent of its employees in the country on the basic concepts of AI.
