India To Share Its Expertise In Nano-Satellite Making To 45 Countries

On Thursday, Jan 10th, a top space official revealed that India has had a plan to train 45 other countries with the topic of nano-satellite making, based on a programme to build new capacities.

Unispace Nanosatellite Assembly and Training by ISRO (UNNATI for short) is the name of this programme which is under the leadership of Chairman K. Sivan, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State in the Department of Space.
However, when IANS asked about the programme’s budget, Sivan didn’t say any specific figure.

There will be 30 members who come from 17 global countries to take part in the first part of the programme. They are from Malaysia, Mongolia, Mexico, Myanmar, Morocco, Argentina, Algeria, Brazil, Bhutan, Azerbaijan, Chile, Indonesia, Egypt, Panama, Portugal, Kazakhstan, and Oman.
The training offering technological information in relation to nano-satellites making will last 8 weeks at the facilities of URSC, Bengaluru.
Each nano-satellite weighs ranging from 1 to 10 kg and belongs to the small kind.

Participants will have a chance to study theory, and practice how to assemble, integrate, and test nano-satellites.
Also in the programme, ISRO will bring its competence in the technology sector in touch with these small satellites to 90 officials coming from 45 various countries in 03 batches.
Each team from all the countries will include 02 members, of which, there are 01 electronics/electrical engineer and 01 mechanical engineer.
The URSC under the leadership of government promise to offer living, travel, and accommodation expenses for some officials during the course.
