The virtual reality (VR) technology has been applied in a variety of fields, like simulation practice, entertainment, industrial design, and medical therapy. In recent times, developers have expanded the applicability scope of modern technology to fashion with the HoloSuit.
As we can see, gamers often use controllers to manipulate activities of characters in a virtual reality game — besides, this technology practical in the motion simulation on omnidirectional treadmills and many other fields.
This time, the VR technology built in the HoloSuit will take us to another step closer to a future. The one who wears this suit will become an entire input device with similar features as a controller.
The HoloSuit is developed by KaayaTech, the Mysore-based Corporation specializing in the research of augmented reality and virtual reality technologies. When designing the suit, KaayaTech aims to create a supreme VR controller. Users can pair it with a string of sensors like depth sensors or motion sensors to enhance the accuracy level when simulating the VR motion.
Experiencing the virtual reality technology doesn’t longer limit in your hands. Instead, everything you see or feel in the virtual environment seems to happen to you in reality. Notably, the integrated sensors on fingers and limbs also make your actions more accurate.
To help you get a better awareness, we’ll refer to one example as follow: when you beat the ball in a cricket game, the HoloSuit will create the realistic impact on your muscles through vibrations in the gloves of the suit. If you don’t hit the ball, a buzz emanating from the back of the HoloSuit will warn you.
Along with the development of the suit, the researchers want to apply it in more fields rather than pure entertainment. For example, it can be used to train newbies in the Indian Army when they take part in activities on a submarine. Also, it applies to the development of designs for next-generation robots or other scientific and technological fields.
