With Pixel feature drops, Google is trying to improve Android phones through new upgrades as well as software. In the first drop, Google enhanced Call Screener and memory management among other features. And now, in the second Pixel feature drop, the tech giant continues to bring 12 new changes to Pixel phones.

Pause and resume audio playback with Motion Sense gesture
If you own a Pixel 4, the most important update is a new Motion Sense gesture allowing you to pause and resume music playback by tapping the air above the device. Before this update, you could only skip or move backward between songs by swiping your hand.

AR effects in Google Duo video calls
There is now a feature that lets you access augmented reality effects in a video call. You can replace your face with something else, like a sunflower, that responds to your reactions and movements.

Depth effect in taking selfie portraits
In the first Pixel feature drop, Google allowed users to add depth effects to images in Google Photos after taking them. But now, users can take selfies with improved depth effects in portrait style along with 3D photos.
New functionality for the power button
This is probably the biggest upgrade in this feature drop, especially for Pixel users. When users press and hold the power button, you can swipe through several things such as event tickets, boarding passes, credit cards, etc., in Google Play. Users of the Pixel 4 smartphone will also see further information like medical info and emergency contacts.
Updates about your flight

To add a boarding pass to Android Pay, you just need to take a screenshot then tap the follow-up notification. Then, Google will also alert you about your flight along with other updates.
The upgraded power button and the boarding pass improvement will come to users of the Pixel 4, Pixel 3, and Pixel 3a this month.
Pixel customization

Google now allows users to automatically switch between dark and light themes based on the time of the day. You can also customize how your Pixel phone behaves in correspondence to your location. For example, you can turn off the handset’s ringer automatically when connecting the phone to the wi-fi network at work, or switch to Do Not Disturb mode when getting home.
Other changes
Other small tweaks include a temporary brightness boost making things easier to read when you use your Pixel phone under the sun as well as improved long-press options in the phone launcher.
