Facebook is known for always changing its platform and app, as it says, to improve user experience. And in its latest update, the social network is making conversations in its Messenger app easier to follow.
The company, on Wednesday, launched a new message replies feature with which users can reply to a specific message in a chat. To do this, users just need to press and hold the message they want and tap on Reply so that it’s quoted above your response. With the new replies feature, the other person will know which message you are replying to.
Earlier this year, the social giant redesigned its Messenger app, it added features like conversation controls and color gradient. In February, Facebook rolled out a new feature which allows users to remove messages within 10 minutes after sending them.
A couple of months ago, Facebook said that it had plans to merge its three messaging platforms namely Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The plan was said to help users send messages across the three apps while they’re still separate.
There are about 1.2 billion monthly users on the network, according to Facebook’s statement in 2017. And the message replies feature we mentioned here will be made available to all global users.
In separate news, Chief Executive Officers of Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Microsoft are receiving a requirement from the US House Homeland Security Committee to prioritize removing violent terrorist content after tragic New Zealand shooting last week. Particularly, the social networks were urged to quickly remove violent content on their platform and it should be put at the highest priority.
The request comes after Last Friday incident when a gunman opened fire, aiming at worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, who were gathering for prayers. The criminal even livestreamed his shooting and share the live footage on Facebook.
