In the upcoming time, Instagram posts will be reviewed by Facebook fact checkers and the team of News Feed Integrity. This move aims to prevent conspiracy theories, misinformation, hate, and fake news from spreading on social media platforms.

According to a report from Engadget on May 06, Facebook will leverage an image recognition technology to keep an eye on all images, which are allegedly creating false information on its major platform, on the free image sharing platform Instagram. Next, it will flag all of the Instagram posts in question and sent them to its fact checkers.
Until now, the amount of users of Facebook’s messaging app has hit about one billion users in the whole world, making it become one of the most popular platforms. However, along with its popularity, a lot of users have made use of both Facebook and Instagram, as well as many other social media platforms, to create and share misinformation and fake news for private and political purposes.
The news is revealed only one week after both Instagram and Facebook banned many renowned figures who belonged to the far-right parties such as Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, and Paul Joseph Watson. All of these personalities are reportedly spreading hate and violence in many social media websites.

In a bid to enhance the security and fight against the spread of fake news, Instagram is planning to add some pop-ups that will display when users are looking for misinformation on their mobile phones or computers. The content concerning anti-vaccine is one typical example. According to the report,

At present, Instagram hasn’t revealed any detail on when the company will officially begin its plan.
