On Sunday, in an interview on the HBO documentary series with Axios, Elon Musk said about his ability to personally go to Mars. He had previously spoken about going to Mars, but turning it into a cross was still tricky at that time. Technology is growing, and there are many breakthroughs, Musk says that now there is a “70% chance” for him to go to Mars. In particular, he expects this to be a one-way trip, meaning that Elon Musk plans to emigrate to Mars.

When answering a reporter's question about this, Elon Musk declared that the idea didn't come from searching for a solution for the rich. Due to the strict conditions, the probability of dying on Mars is several times higher than that on Earth, so traveling to Mars as an"escape hatch for the rich" is completely wrong. However, Musk said:

Also, according to SpaceX's founder, an ad for traveling to Mars is similar to that of “Shackleton's adventures in Antarctica”, except that it is impossible to move to Antarctica due to its proved dangers.
Musk explains that getting to Mars is a challenge when it comes to building your base and struggling to survive under harsh living conditions. Although you can theoretically return to Earth, no one can guarantee that. According to Elon Musk, finding and researching ways to survive on Mars is not an impossible task but a challenge that people can overcome as climbing to the highest mountain in Everest.
If your trip to Mars is also on the to-do list in your life, you should save a lot of money as it will cost you some hundred thousand dollars to get a seat on the spaceship (called BFR). This is a spacecraft designed by Musk for interplanetary journeys. It is also a private spaceship for passengers to travel to the Moon.
Still, many questions are raised about whether or not this trip is possible. Both the fans and the haters of Musk discussed a lot about this interview on Twitter when it was released.
In addition, in the interview, he talked about the combination of man and artificial intelligence and the fact that Tesla is on the brink of bankruptcy.
