According to the official news from Tesla, which is an e-vehicle manufacturer from the U.S, this company’s Model 3 cars made in its Shanghai factory will be delivered on Monday, December 30th. The company’s abroad factory location has been started in January and enacted in October. From the planning phase, the aim of producing no less than 250,000 vehicles annually after the introduction of Model Y has been emphasized strongly.
It is calculated that only after approximately a year, the factory has achieved its goal number of vehicles that are ready for delivery. This has a special meaning for the development of Tesla’s reputation in China automobile market. Additionally, its spokesperson revealed that the users of the first 15 new modern cars are Tesla staff.
These cars are sold at the cost of 355,800 yuan, equal to $50,000 before China subsidizes. As explained by the company, the new cars are delivered on December 30th to avoid the Lunar New Year starting on Jan 25. It is also thought to stem from the fact that Tesla expects its expansion would lessen the negative impact of the trade war between the U.S and China - the world’s largest auto market. This country is seen as a huge opportunity for many companies, owing to the great number of racing events and auto showrooms that it offers every year.
In Reuters’ report, not only did Tesla establish its first oversea factory in Shanghai but it also added many service centers and charging stations across the country. This is said to be a quality guarantee for Tesla customers. Together with the fact that its factory is the first foreign car plant, it receives both political and economic support from the Chinese government. Specifically, Model 3 cars were considered to be among those new energy vehicles that are tax-free, as announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Notably, the Ministry added that all of Tesla’s models would receive the same privilege in the upcoming August.
