On April 15, the whole world experienced great sorrow when hearing about the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral. Right after that, the fire was extinguished. However, we will need to make a lot of effort to rebuild the icon in Paris.
Like many other global companies, Apple under the leadership of CEO Tim Cook has claimed that it would help France to reconstruct the famous medieval Catholic cathedral. On April 16, Cook expressed his condolences and confirmed the company’s involvement in his Tweet:
In addition to Apple, many public figures and politicians have contributed financial sums with the hope to rebuild the Notre-Dame. Some of those include Queen Elizabeth II, President Donald Trump, Pope Francis, and the US former President Obama.
The fire was called a “terrible tragedy” by French President Emmanuel Macron. Also, the President made a firm promise to his people that the nation would unite to “rebuild this cathedral together.”
One day after the fire, France couldn’t evaluate its severity in reality. The spire of the Notre-Dame Cathedral was but a pile of ashes, meanwhile, other areas including the roof were determined to be seriously damaged. The reason why the masterpiece went up in flames was still a secret.

From the morning of April 16, a lot of companies has made great efforts on rebuilding the medieval cathedral by pledging money. The amount of money has reached up to over $600 million. Among the donators are L’Oréal and Bernard Arnault – the CEO of LVMH – the richest man in France at the moment.
Apple hasn’t given any official statement on the amount of money the company will contribute. In addition, it didn’t make any comment when being requested by Business Insider.
