BSNL Work@Home Broadband Plan Validity Extended To May 19 For Indian Users During The India Lockdown

BSNL has prolonged its Work@Home broadband plan, which will now be valid until May 19. The plan previously was valid until April 19 only.

BSNL has prolonged its Work@Home broadband plan, which will now be valid until May 19. The state-owned telco launched the plan in March to give users of BSNL landline service free access to the internet. Those eligible for this plan get download speeds of up to 10Mbps for a limited 5GB data cap on a daily basis.

The plan was meant to encourage people to stay home and practice social distancing during the India lockdown specifically and the CO.VID-19 pandemic in general. Before the extension, BSNL offered the plan validity to April 19.

The validity extension for the Work@Home broadband plan was announced on BSNL Tamil Nadu’s official account on Twitter along with an image as the following.

Launched in March, the Work@Home broadband plan is applied for broadband landline users, which was initially valid until April 19. BSNL launched the plan for all circles, which included the Nicobar and Andaman circle. However, the telco has prolonged the offer now that the Indian government has extended the nationwide lockdown to May 3. Previously, the lockdown was supposed to end on April 14.

About the benefits of this plan, the telco provides users with 5GB of high-speed data that allows them to download at up to 10Mbps. After using up the first 5GB data, users will be switched to normal-speed at 1Mbps. In addition, users of this plan get a free email that comes with 1GB of storage.

The plan doesn’t require users to recharge monthly and it’s offered without a security deposit. However, there are no changes to the current voice calling subscription as well as call charges. Users can register to use the plan by calling 1800-345-1504.
