Thanks to new rules from the Federal Communication Commission, carriers are allowed to block robocalls by default, and AT&T will not miss this chance. The telecom provider will begin automatic block toward fraud calls, it will also send alerts to its subscribers about suspected spam calls. This feature will be by default for new users of the network. In case you don’t want your calls to be scanned and screened like this, you have to re-set the system to opt-out the feature.
For existing customers of AT&T, on the other hand, the feature will automatically come to their accounts within the coming months. However, users can start enjoying the feature right now by simply downloading an app called AT&T Call Protect on their phones or by enabling it via account settings in myAT&T.
If you are a customer of AT&T and has been bothered with fraud calls and scams for years, then it will be nothing happier to get the news that you are now free from those annoying robocalls. The greater new is that it is all free, no extra charge, no hidden cost.

We are expecting that other carriers will follow AT&T and carry out the same action. However, you should stay cautious about such offerings no matter which telecom provider you are subscribing to. For now, the automatic call protector costs nothing, in the case of AT&T. However, in fact, there is no rule, regarding the FCC regulation, guarantee this free charge for good. There will and always be an opportunity for phone provider to take financial advantage of the auto-blocking. It is free, for now, with all AT&T new customers, but we have to wait a while to take credit for it.
