Yesterday Apple made public its third event which is scheduled to take place on November 10 at 10:00 A.M at Cupertino-based Apple Park.
Much like the two previous events that saw the launch of iPhones, Apple Watch, and other products, the upcoming event is digital-only.
Since the company has already announced iPhone 12 lineup, 8th-generation iPad, 4th-generation iPad Air, Apple Watch Series 6, the third event is expected to be dominated by Mac devices with the introduction of an Apple Silicon Mac.
So here is what to expect:
Apple Silicon Mac
Apple said the first Apple Silicon Mac powered by an Arm-based chip would come before 2020 ended so we have reason to believe the third event will be dedicated to the device.
Apple confirmed the development of Apple Silicon chips in June and since then, the Cupertino tech giant has said very little about the progress.
The chips share some common traits with A-series processors powering iPads and iPhones. The chips are designed by the Cupertino tech giant itself and manufactured by TSMC.
The chips promise a deeper level of integration between hardware and software, thus helping Macs producing more efficiency. What we can expect are features like universal apps that can operate on all devices in the Apple ecosystem.
We have heard nothing on which model of Mac that will get the new chips but since rumor has it that the company is reviving the 12-inch MacBook has and developing new MacBook Air, we have reason to believe that the lower-cost options will be the firsts to get the upgrade.
Other Possibilities
The November event might be dedicated solely to Macs but it’s possible that Apple will take the chance to introduce some other hardware too.
AirPods Studio
Apple is expanding the AirPods family with over-ear headphones called AirPods Studio, which is rumored to be retailed at $349, have Active Noise Cancelling, and a Retro design.
The headphones are believed to be released this year but since there are reports of some issues, we have no idea if it can make it out in 2020.
AirTags
AirTags are Apple’s own take on Bluetooth trackers that can be attached on keys or wallets so that you can track them with the Find My app.
Rumors of the devices have been circulating for some time now so people are expecting them to be released in the November event.
Event Coverage
The event will be streamed on YouTube, Apple’s Events website, as well as the its TV app. The time is 10:00 A.M Pacific Time.
AR Event Accompaniment
As with the two previous events, this one has its own augmented reality teaser, which you can view on the events page using an iOS device.
