Apple has just been granted patents for a two-way wireless charging tech for its devices. The drawings in the filling show MacBook charging the Apple Watch, iPad, and iPhone and the same ability on iPhones and iPads.
This idea isn’t something entirely new as many other phone manufacturers have taken reverse wireless charging very seriously. However, Apple is going on a slightly different path. According to the patents, the palm rest, lid, trackpad, and lid of the MacBook can be used to charge other iOS devices.

The problem this technology will solve is that when there aren’t enough power outlets for all of your devices, you can wirelessly charge others with your MacBooks, iPhones, or iPads. This technology might be the evidence of something Apple is believed to be doing – making a completely portless iPhone.
For now, all iPads and MacBooks are made out of aluminum – not a material compatible with wireless charging. So if Apple plans to go ahead with this plan, it might have to rethink the design of its devices.

This is a patent after all so we may have to wait for new updates on this project. However, many users will appreciate the wireless charging ability on iPhones as many of its Android competitors have gone really far in this respect.

We put our hope on the iPhone 13 next year as iPhone 12 lineup can hardly enable the tech.
