In times like these, we are thankful that there are delivery agents who bring to us all the necessary items we need amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, besides doctors, nurses, policemen, etc., these are also the people that are the most vulnerable to the virus.
Recent reports reveal that at least 10 Amazon warehouses have workers test positive to COVID-19.

These facilities have been shut down by Amazon for decontamination. Colleagues who have close contact with infected people have been put into quarantine.
This news came after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced that the company would hire 100,000 employees. Moreover, to encourage its staff, the company has increased the hourly salary by $2 in the US, 2 Euros in Europe and 2 GBP in the UK. This increase in salary will cost the company $350 million.
Not just workers in the US, some warehouse workers in Italy and Spain also tested positive.

The increase in the number of cases has led to warehouse workers sign in a petition that asks Amazon to take necessary measures to prevent workers from being infected.
In a statement, Lisa Levandowski, Amazon spokeswoman said:

The recent letter of Amazon CEO to its staff also revealed that the bran is having difficulty in terms of safety gear. He revealed that although millions of masks have been ordered for the employees, the global shortage has caused these orders to be delayed or even canceled.
While other tech giants have already allowed their employees to work from home because of the pandemic, Amazon has decided to hire more employees to meet the huge demands of consumers. This also highlights the difference between Amazon and Apple or Microsoft.
