What is YouTube Super Chat?

A few months ago, Youtube announced a new feature for YouTubers to increase their earnings. Super Chat is new money earning feature which the company gave to its video creators. This feature allows viewers to pay some money to creators in consideration to pin a comment during live streams. When you head to any live stream, you see a small cash symbol in the bottom of the chat window. If you want to pin your comment, tap on the cash sign and set the amount, that you wish to pay for pinning a comment.

How does Super Chat work?

For using Super Chat feature, you first need to make a comment and pay the amount to the live streamer. After this, your comment will be pinned at the top for up to 5 hours. But, if you write anything abusive in a comment, keep this one thing in mind that the creator has the power to block the comment and your account as well.

When you watch any live stream on YouTube, as mentioned above, you'll see a small-dollar button at the end of the chat window. By clicking on it, you can set the amount you want to pay. The more you pay, the more hours your comment will remain pinned. When you pay money, you get some different types of characters and stickers, which help the streamer to notice the paid comments. During the chat, if your comment pushed off, Super Chat allows viewing all paid comments at one place.

1. Open any live stream on YouTube.
2. Click on "Send a Super Chat."
3. Fill in the amount, or you can use the slider.
4. Enter any Message (Optional).
5. Select the option "Buy and Send."
6. For payment, you can pay through YouTube or Youtube Gaming and Android apps as well. An iOS payment option is not available.

Who gets the money?

All the money, which is collected through Super Chat, will directly credit into the creator's account, the platform does not get any share.
