Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 To Release Soon With 10,000 And 20,000mAh Variants

Xiaomi will soon release the third generation of its Mi Power Bank with the same 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh capacity variants and some new features.

The 3rd generation of the popular Xiaomi Mi Power Banks, Mi Power Bank 3, could soon be launched. Xiaomi is said to be working on the next gen of its Mi Power Bank and similar to it predecessor, it will come in two variants with 10,000 and 20,000 mAh capacities.

Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2i

Droidshout claims that the launch of the 3rd gen of the Mi Power Bank are getting very close. He adds that the variant with 10,000 mAh capacity will be offered in Black colour while the 20,000 mAh variant will come in Silver. One interesting detail is that the new power banks will come with USB Power Delivery support and fast charge support.

The report also said that the Chinese phone maker open admits that its new power banks will have 10 to 20 percent less capacity than as advertised. Therefore, don’t be shock if the 10,000 mAh Mi Power Bank 3 only has an actual capacity of around 7,500 to 8,500 mAh and it is 16,000 to 18,000 mAh on the 20,000 mAh variant.

Xiaomi is selling its Mi Power Bank 2 in the global market and the Mi Power Bank 2i exclusively in India. With the price of Rs. 899, the Mi Power Bank 2i Red with 10,000 mAh capacity has two USB ports for two way 18W Quick Charge and relies on a micro-USB port for charging. And it is the same for the 20,000 mAh capacity variant. The current power bank lineup only have support for standard charging and low capacity charging for some devices like wearable ones.

Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2i is made in India

The current lineup of Xiaomi power bank also don’t have a USB-C port and it is expected to feature in the upcoming lineup. The new power bank is expected to have a USB-C port along with a traditional USB port. However, the official release date of these power banks isn’t confirmed yet.
