Xiaomi Unveiled Mi AirDots Pro 2, A Budget Alternatives To AirPods, Echo Buds

Starting from Sep 27th, the new Xiaomi's earbuds will go on sale in China for a price of CNY 399 (roughly Rs 4,000).

Amazon Echo Buds have been unveiled at the company’s event in recent days, and it has gained lots of attention from tech lovers because of its abilities which can directly compete with Apple’s AirPods and a more affordable price tag. However, you might’ve missed other new earbuds that are likely to be alternatives to AirPods as well – Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro 2. Xiaomi has announced its latest audio-set in China, with both name and form are derivative of Apple’s AirPods like their predecessors.

First and foremost, the AirDots Pro 2 shares the same in-ear bud design like what AirPods feature. This is not all the similarities between two earbuds models while the Xiaomi earbuds are also placed in a holding case that doubles up as the charging case too.

These earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.0 and several additional supports, including SBC, AAC, LDHC Hi-Res audio codecs and so on. Furthermore, the earbuds feature dual microphones to make ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) possible when they’re in use. They also come with 14.2mm drivers as well as touch controls. With the help of infrared sensors, the AirDots Pro 2 can recognize when users removed them from their ears then automatically pause audio.

When it comes to battery life, the earbuds can last up to 4 hours of audio playback. The 50-gram-case packs an additional 14 hours of charge. It charges through a USB Type-C port and users will have to spend one hour to have the case fully charged.

The new earbuds will available for sale in the Chinese market on Sep 27th. As for the price, it will cost CNY 399 (roughly Rs 4,000). Aside from AirDots Pro 2, Xiaomi had also introduced a load of new devices in its lineup, including the flagship phone Mi MIX Alpha, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi TV Pro 8K, 30W Mi Charge Turbo, and Mi Power Bank 3 50W.
