Xbox Series X Release Date 2020
Previously, Microsoft had teased that the new Xbox would come out during the Holiday seasons of 2020. But the company has then confirmed the device’s official launching date: November 10, 2020. The Xbox Series S will be released at the same time. Both consoles can be pre-ordered on September 22, 2020.
We don’t know whether the Xbox Series X will come out before the PS5 as Sony hasn’t released any information regarding the next-gen console’s release date or price. Xbox Series x release date India will also be on November 10.
Xbox Series X 2020 Price
After much speculation, the price of the Xbox Series X has finally been revealed. The device will reportedly cost $499.
It isn’t surprising that it took Microsoft so long to announce the console’s price, given its experience with the Xbox One. When it first came out, the price tag of the Xbox One was $499. After Microsoft realized that people weren’t willing to splurge that much money, it decided to reduce the price.
Compared to the Xbox One X or the Xbox One X, the Xbox Series is more powerful and its higher price tag does reflect that.
Xbox Series X 2020 Specs
The Xbox Series X is going to be a beast, considering its design and what it offers under the hood.
The processor of the device is an eight-core and 16-thread customized AMD Zen 2 CPU. Its base speed is 3.6GHz and peak speed is 3.8GHz.
It has also been revealed by Digital Foundry, these frequencies aren’t locked, meaning that the power of the CPU could be adjusted based on thermals and workload. Basically, this suggests that if you are playing a game requiring a lot of processing power, the CPU will be boosted and it will slow down when you do not need it.
The GPU is a custom design one with 12 teraflops. There are 328 shaders that are assigned to 52 compute units. The GPU runs at 1,825 MHz.
The device uses the RDNA 2 architecture of AMD. The Xbox Series X will come with that graphical power acquirement comparable to a gaming PC that has the RTX 2080 graphics card from Nvidia.
Compared to 12GB GDDR5 of the Xbox One X, the Xbox Series X will have 16GB of GDDR6 memory. However, not all will be used in games. 13.5GB will be saved for games with 3.5GB of standard memory and 10GB of GPU optimal memory. The remaining 2.5GB is for the operating system so that the user interface can run a lot faster.
In terms of performance, the faster GDDR6 means the devices will get a big improvement. And with a super-fast NVMeSSD, the Xbox Series X will feel very spritely.
According to Microsoft, the device will have 8K capability. Games will be run at 60 FPS in 4K. The console will be able to support 120 FPS as a maximum. There will be a feature called Variable Rate Shading. This is used to have a higher resolution and a more stable frame rate by prioritizing effects on different objects and characters in games.
With Velocity Architecture, the Xbox Series X can deliver performance that is beyond its raw specs, reducing game file sizes, eliminating loading times, and allowing for more immersive game worlds.
The Seagate expansion card is like a cross between a USB thumb drive and an external hard drive. And it can be plugged directly to the proprietary port that is on the back of the console. The port is used to match the speed of the expansion card and the internal SSD inside. So the performance won’t be impacted when you play games using the expansion card.
With a “Quick Resume” feature, you can continue with games almost instantly without having to wait through load screens.
Microsoft has confirmed that all the accessories that you have for the Xbox One will also work with the new Xbox Series X, including the headsets and controllers. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 will also be compatible with the new console. But a next-gen wireless controller will also be launched alongside the new Xbox Series X. Xbox Series X release date 2020 will fall on November 10, 2020.
