Every year, CES hosts all kinds of cool and weird tech that can stir the curiosity of almost anyone. CES 2020 is no exception. Here is the coolest smart home tech currently on display.
Lockly Vision Smart Lock
Lockly has made a name for itself on the market for providing smart locks with high-tech features, including app control, temporary codes, voice control, fingerprint sensor technology, and a keypad that moves the numbers for extra security.
Lockly’s Vision Smart Lock on exhibition at CES 2020 has all of the above features along with added functions like video doorbell, which live stream videos of the porch to the accompanying smartphone app; and the two-way talk feature will allow for conversation with guests via the app.
The lock’s asking price is $399 (Rs. 28,527).
Abode Security Camera and/or Video Doorbell
Abode has a tiny camera that can offer a slew of features. It is as big as half the size of a card deck but can be either a security camera or a video doorbell. The camera can be used indoors or outdoors with a field of view of 152 degrees.
The camera comes equipped with the Cue automation functionality of Abode and it can detect faces. Users can tweak the database for improved notification sensitivity.
The Abode security camera will be available at $199 (Rs. 14,227).
Trifo Lucy Robot Vacuum and Surveillance System
Lucy is a smart home product and the combination of a home security system and a robot vacuum. It can clean your house when you need it to and patrol the premise with its in-built cameras.
At night, Lucy can still do the job, thanks to the depth sensor onboard and a 1080P HDR color camera. These cameras can double as obstacle detection tool to help the robot cleans the house. It can avoid socks, pets, and slippers, courtesy of 3D semantics algorithms and proprietary 3D geometry.
Lucy is on display at CES 2020 as we speak.
Aquifer Refine Water Purification and Leak Detection System
Aquifer Refine goes under your house’s kitchen sink. It is connected to Wi-Fi and can remove some pharmaceuticals and contaminants.
It acts as a water purifier but can double as a leak alert system. Since it is Wi-Fi connected, Aquifer Refine can notify of leakages or filter life. If you connect it to Amazon Dash, you may even have new filters sent to your house.
The system will be on sale for $600 (Rs. 42,898).
Kohler Touchless Toilets
Kohler is a well-known name in the industry and at CES 2020, it brings an exciting piece of tech. The toilet on exhibition features a color-changing nightlight, a touchless control sensor, and a physical handle.
The Kohler Konnect app allows you to change the color of the nightlight as well as adjust the sensor’s sensitivity. In short, you can flush the toilet by a wave of hand without touching the handle that might be covered with germs.
LIFX Control Switch 4-Gang Smart Light Switch
Lifx has excellent lighting technology and at CES 2020, the company brings a slew of new products. Among them, Lifx Control Switch stands out.

C by GE Three Wire Smart Light Switches
Smart light switches can make your life easier as you can give a command like “Alexa, turn on the light” or set a specific time for the lights to be turned on or off. The system can work on any dumb bulbs, sparing you the need to purchase extra smart light bulbs.
One of the major setbacks of these systems is that they need a neutral wire to be able to work. Their prices are not cheap either.
This is when the new three-wire light switches of GE kicks in. The company is an honoree of the Innovation Award. The switch does not need a neutral wire or a hub. There is an app for you to control the whole thing and the switches can work on platforms like Google Home or Alexa.
These switches are available for only $40 (Rs. 2,859).

Sunflower Home Security system looks like something from a sci-fi movie. With a hefty price of $10,000 (Rs. 7,14,970), the system comes with a drone called Bee to surveil your house. It is kept in a hub called Hive to be charged and protected. Hive is the brain of the system and it is also waterproof.
The whole system has some sunflowers distributed around your yard. They detect motions and can tell cars, humans, and pets apart. With the app, the owner can do things like heat map checking in real-time.
