If you have fallen in love with the look of the Apple Watch but happens to be an Android fan, this news will cheer you up. Oppo is entering the smartwatch market.
During a press conference, the Chinese firm unveiled the Oppo Watch along with its new flagship Oppo Find X2 Pro. Oppo then compared its smartwatch with the Apple Watch. The two look a lot alike, but the Oppo Watch is not completely a duplicate of Apple’s product, lacking the digital crown. But besides that, it also has the curved display surrounded by metal as well as a seamless band attachment.
The Oppo Watch has a body that’s 4.5 mm thick and crafted from a combination of 3D curved crystal glass and aluminum, complete with a ceramic back. Its AMOLED screen measures 1.91 inches is said to incorporate a flexible hyperboloid screen, offering 326ppi pixel density. Meanwhile, strippers are made from either Italian calfskin or fluoro rubber, which can be switched with other designs to fit different outfits.
Oppo Watch key specs and features:
- Built-in e-SIM cellular connectivity, meaning users can make calls using the watch’s number or the phone number.
- Making payments
- Listening to music
- Sleep monitoring
- Fitness tracking
- Water resistance of up to 50 meters
- Dual-chip system for preserving battery life. The watch can go for 40 hours on a full charge or survive 21 days if in power-saving mode. The smartwatch can also be fast-charged within 75 minutes.
Oppo said that it will release the Oppo Watch worldwide with the first launch in the Chinese market on March 24. The company will announce launch dates and prices later.
